Big Game Tackle Co. lures are made with the highest quality components available. Including select cut balsa wood, Witchcraft lure eyes, and Mustad extra strong round bend hooks. All of our lures are hand crafted with stainless steel through wire construction and super strong Lexan diving lips. Our hand-painted finishes are epoxy coated to ensure lasting durability. Our balsa twitch series lures are specially weighted to provide a slower and more horizontal rise to the action of the lure making them especially effective at triggering muskies at boat side. Our surface twitch series are specially weighted to stay up high for working on or just under the surface.

Here is a photo of one of my clients, Darlene Adee, and a fine musky she caught and released on a Big Game twitch bait. It is one of the very first lures I introduce to all new musky hunters and huntresses. It is easy to use...and catches fish! What I particularly like about this lure is it's versatility. With it's slow presentation, it catches fish in spring and autumn when the water temps are down and the fish are lethargic (slower metabolisms). It is also an effective lure during the summer time. I just retrieve it faster! I also like the fact that during the summer I can twitch it right over the thickest weeds. If it encounters weeds, I just pause, let it back off and rise. Generally it backs right out of the weeds and I can continue the retrieve.

I teach many new female anglers and this is a really fantastic lure for them to use. It is light and doesn't wear one out when throwing it for hours on end. Many husbands are now borrowing their wives' Big Games because they find out what an effective lure it is! Lastly, these lures are really resilient. Similar lures seem to break near their lips or their paint jobs don't last. I've been very happy with the quality of the Big Games.
